Dave Edwards has been associated with the world of Radio Broadcasting for over 40 years, having started as many do, in Hospital Radio. He was one of the driving forces behind the formation of The Loughborogh Hospitals Broacasting Service (LHBS) back in 1975.
In fact Dave was the Station Manager for several years.
He was also associated with Radio Fox, in his home city of Leicester, in the early 1990's. He produced and presented the Sunday Breakfast Show.
Dave has, over the years, worked for both Commercial and Publicly funded radio stations both here in the UK, as well world-wide.
He started as a Studio Assistant at BBC Radio Leicester in 1976.
He was used as a Commercial 'Voice Over' talent on Radio Trent in Nottingham and Mercia Sound in Coventry in the eighties.
Dave spent several years producing and presenting shows for local stations here in the UK. He also spent some time broadcasting in Indonesia.
Dave returned to live in the UK again in 2010. He has spent the past few years providing 'Voice Overs' for several radio Stations, producing them in the Broadcast Studio that he has set up at his home.
He has also been very busy running his own Internet Radio Station, Classic Hits Uk, which showcases the hits of the 60's & 70's. The station is heard in over 95 countries worldwide.
Having grown up in the Sixties, and having experienced the Seventies, he has a genuine love for the popular music of those two decades.
His special love of the 70's is reflected in his show called 'That Seventies Sound' which he produces and presents each and every week. The show is not only heard on Classic Hits Uk, but on other quality radio station's around the globe.

Is a new show coming to Fresh Radio
I have been a DJ/Radio Presenter since the 60’s where I started on Land based pirate radio stations and in disco clubs around London.
In the 70's I was still working in Disco clubs and engaged in agent work for the odd outside broadcasts for radio stations and during that time for 4 years I was doing Hospital Radio.

In the 70's I was still working in Disco clubs and engaged in agent work for the odd outside broadcasts for radio stations and during that time for 4 years I was doing Hospital Radio.
In the late 70's I was a DJ/Compère in a night club where the acts were groups from the 60's & 70's such as Gerry & The Pacemakers, Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders, The Searchers, The Troggs, plus many more plus Bonnie Tyler and groups such as Paper Lace, Russ Abbot & the Black Abbots etc.
I left the industry during the 80's and returned in 2005 working for Coastal FM where I stayed for over 5 years doing the breakfast show & outside work for the station.
Since 2016 I have continually done weekend shows introducing the English service on RNI and I am currently still with them. Now I present The Pete Nightingale Pirate Radio Show as they were on the 60's Pirate stations, the shows demostrate the fun, the excitement & the mood as heard on the DLT, Kenny Everett, Tony Blackburn, TW & Dave Cash shows to name a few.

If that's not enough then I also give to you a Piece of Cheese. A cheesy record from the past. The cheese is from where the singer is from
As you can tell, I adore music. I love Rock music, Dance music etc etc. The only style you will not hear on the show is slow music. Yes, it has its place, but that place is not on my show. I love whimsy and wonder and my show is overflowing with both.
I also have a wonderful rescue dog who came all the way from Skiathos to be with me. Prince is the most divine dog and has even appeared on a calendar! Want to know more? Just listen to my show on Fresh!
My name is Leo Kirby and I present 50 Years and Rolling .The music I play on the show is extremely versatile From U2 to Calvin Harris, from Steely Dan to Coldplay, from emerging acts such as Loah and Dermot Kennedy to classics such as The Police and David Bowie

It is a must listen to show if you have any interest in music from the last 5 decades with an Irish soft easy voice doing the links in between the tunes, with personality and high quality production thrown in.
Also I love extended plays and classic album tracks and also helping up and coming recording artists get a break in the radio world by playing their music.
